Audiences response
Q1. Do you understand the basic plot-line? Yes
Q2. Is there anything you don't understand? I have raised a couple of query’s see below
Q3. Is there anything you would change? See below
Q4. Is there aspects you like, if so please describe. I like the fact that this film is a magical fantasy
Q5. Is there any aspects you don't, is so please describe. You need to think about the relationships between each of the characters, the plot and what drives the whole thing forward – basically you have a start a middle and an end but need to link each scene together
Q6. Please add any other information or opinions you can give me that you feel is helpful. Can you say at this stage how long will the film be?
A witch for an unknown reason cast a curse on a princess
Why has the witch cast a curse on the princess? There must be a motive? It could be a number of things (Jealousy, envy, resentment, hatred……why though? – could the princess be the stepchild of the witch, resentment of her Father) or maybe it was a mistake (She cast a spell/put a curse on someone/something else (The Prince for example) but the princess – got in the way – drank a potion – by mistake) The curse was that the princess had to produce a drop of blood on the concrete in a certain place in London or
the world/ or people closest to her will die
A ‘Certain Place’ in London, why London and where did you have in mind? It should be somewhere relevant or special? A place relevant to the curse or relevant to the relationship between the witch and the princess or the history of their relationship? Why not make it somewhere mystical, magical, an ancient ruin for example (Hastings Castle for e.g. – somewhere where the witch was once happy before she became embittered) Location examples in the Midlands: Broadway Tower, Perrotts Folly. (Can you remember those locations honey, you have been to them? Kenilworth Castle (Ruin) or Alton Towers (Ruin) would make good footage. Check em’ out on Google Images. The father sends her to the city telling her to go in disguise
That’s straightforward enough but what type of disguise is she going to wear (Is the disguise to prevent the witch from finding out?) Bearing in the mind the Prince is going to fall in love with her when he catches up with her he will need to be attracted to her in some way (For example if she is disguised as a young man or an old lady he would not be interested in her?) How will they fall in love if she’s in disguise? Unless she is disguised as a young peasant girl?
The witch sends a prince after her to kill her
Is the prince willing to do the deed or has the witch put a spell on him as well? If he’s willing then why is he willing?
The princess and prince fall in love
Good story, can’t beat a bit of romance. After falling in love does he then change his mind about killing her (Falling in love lifts the spell the witch put on him maybe?)
They find the place she needs to break the curse
Was this easy or do they have to follow a secret map/ a number of riddles or clues or do they know exactly where to go? And where will it be and why?(Her place of birth for e.g. or a place where the witch stores her power?)
The witch turns up and shoots the prince
With what? Cross bow, bow and arrow some other weaponry? Lightening bolt?
The princess kills herself spilling her blood and breaking the curse
How does this event occur, it was only supposed to be a drop of blood so in reality she should only be pricking her finger? How does she sustain the fatal injury?
The witch leaves
Satisfied that everything has gone well?
Prince is revived by the (lifting of?) curse and kisses the girl
The girl doesn't wake up
Very sad
He kills himself with the knife

My response
I am going to rewrite some scenes and re location to Birmingham
Because I feel the filming will be more fluent.
For my next audience response I will be interviewing someone of the opposite gender but same age.
